The heart of the Jeremy Affeldt Foundation is youth ministry, with the ultimate mission of providing ministries with the funds and assets they need to accomplish their goals. Jeremy is an avid speaker, with a desire to impact youth and provide youth with the tools to dramatically change their world by action, character, and purity. Jeremy and wife Larisa wish to encourage youth to passionately pursue their dreams and become all they can be.

"We want children, teenagers, and young adults to have a save haven, a safe environment to enjoy, and have a place where they can seek Godly council and support in the midst of their struggles; A place where their voice can be heard."

Jeremy and Larisa's story began in May of 1997, when they first met. Even though they both lead busy lives, they found time to spend with each other, culminating in February of 1999 when Jeremy proposed. 9 months later, the couple was married. As the couple continue to grow in their marriage and ministry, Jeremy and Larisa look to use the platform of professional sports as a catalyst to providing real, practical ministry to those around them

Jeremy's professional baseball career took off in 1997 when he was drafted in the 3rd round by the Kansas City Royals as a hard-throwing left hander with sky-high talent and potential. It was in this season of his life that Jeremy chose to take his life and his work seriously. The work on and off the field came to fruition in 2002 as Jeremy made his Major League debut with the Royals and went on to have a very succesful rookie campaign. The hard work continued to pay off for Jeremy, as in 2003 he posted career highs in nearly every major statistical category, helping the Royals to their most successful season in a decade.
